PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to individual students, or groups, to address personal, social-emotional and academic challenges related to their educational and social progress.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide immediate support during crises, such as abuse, neglect, or traumatic events.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Participate as a fully engaged and contributing member of building-level teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of student interactions, progress and interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as a first responder to urgent mental health emergencies.
  • Provide individual or group counseling to address issues related to bullying, grief, and substance abuse.
  • Review all IEP and 504 with emotional disability, autism spectrum, or multi-disabilities diagnosis. Reading and knowledge of outcomes of their developmental delay/disability/diagnosis and how it relates to their success at CSS.
